7 Brilliant Ways To Start Any Presentation

by Michael Effanga -

As we build and grow our careers, there will be several opportunities where we need to make presentations to different audience size and focus.

Your ability to share knowledge, keep your listeners engaged and captivate them will be a great advantage.

Here are 7 brilliant ways you can adopt in starting any presentation.

1.TELL A CAPTIVATING STORY

Stories draw people in, remind them of their own lives, and hold their attention.

2. ASK RHETORICAL, THOUGHT-PROVOKING QUESTION.

When crafted and delivered well, rhetorical questions get people thinking and influence the audience to believe in the position of the speaker.

3.STATE A SHOCKING STATISTIC OR HEADLINE.

The statistic or claim needs to be directly related to the main purpose of your presentation, and it should persuade the audience to want to listen and respond positively to what you’re about to say.

4.USE A POWERFUL QUOTE.

Employ the wise of a well-known person because the name allows you to tap into his r her credibility, likeability and notoriety. Price says, Th e quote must have meaning and relevance to the audience.

5. SHOW A GRIPPING PHOTO.

A complaining image adds aesthetic appeal, increases comprehension, engage the audience’s imagination- and makes the message more memorable.

6. USE A PROP OR CREATIVE VISUAL AID

A prop is a magnetic tool that hooks your audience and keeps them watching or listening. A visual aid can help emphasize a point, price says.

7. PLAY A SHORT VIDEO.

Unlike text and bullet points on slide, videos evoke emotional responses. They allow you to reelin the audience, add drama, and communicate the gist of your message quickly.
